The British Touring Car Championship delivered another action packed weekend at Donington Park’s Grand Prix circuit, with three fiercely contested races playing a significant role in shaping the season’s title battle. Across changing conditions, Tom Ingram emerged as the standout performer, leaving the weekend with a strengthened championship position.
Early Success for Team VERTU
The opening race of the weekend set the tone, with Tom Chilton converting a strong start into victory for Team VERTU. The experienced driver controlled the race from the front, resisting pressure as battles unfolded behind him.
Behind Chilton, championship contender Tom Ingram brought his Hyundai home in second place and banking valuable points. Dan Rowbottom completed the podium after an assertive drive that showcased the pace of the NAPA Racing UK package.

Rain Brings Chaos in Race Two
Drama strikes in race two as rain provided some challenging driving. Drivers were forced to adapt, with several running wide or losing positions in the closing laps.
The changing conditions played into the hands of Dan Cammish, who delivered a confident drive to secure victory on the occasion of his 200th BTCC start. The race ultimately finished under Safety Car conditions, with Adam Morgan and Gordon Shedden completing the podium after navigating the late chaos.
While some championship hopefuls suffered setbacks, Ingram once again kept his nose clean.

Ingram Strikes Back in the Finale
The final race of the day proved decisive. Starting outside the top four, Ingram worked his way through the field.
A tense battle developed between Ingram and Ash Sutton, with the pair trading positions and leaving no margin for error. The decisive moment came when Ingram capitalised on stronger late-race pace to take the lead, defending all the way to the chequered flag despite sustained pressure.
Dan Rowbottom continued his impressive weekend with another podium finish, while Sutton was forced to settle for second after a hard-fought race.

Championship Momentum Builds
By the end of the Donington Park GP weekend, Ingram had not only claimed a vital race win but also continued his consistency. While others experienced mixed fortunes, his ability to score heavily in all three races allowed him to extend his advantage in the standings.
