Digging through an old hard drive recently, Ben Feetham found some of his very first motorsport images — taken at what was then the Blancpain Endurance Series (now GT World Challenge Europe) around 2015.
He was just ten years old at the time, capturing cars that, a decade later, are now appearing in historic categories such as GT3 Legends. In many ways, this was the quiet beginning of his motorsport journey. One standout example is the C6 Callaway Corvette GT3, seen competing in the inaugural GT3 Legends race at Silverstone. Originally debuting in FIA GT3 competition in 2006, it’s a reminder of how motorsport history continues to evolve — and how long Ben has been connected to the scene.

Despite living on the doorstep of Silverstone, motorsport wasn’t initially the main focus. Aviation photography was the real driving force during those early years, leading to the creation of the b12.aviation account, which steadily grew and helped shape his visual style. The turning point came around 2021, when Ben received his first DSLR camera and decided to take it along to a British GT round at Silverstone. That single decision changed everything.
From there, a dedicated motorsport page followed — originally b12.motorsport — transforming what had once been a personal archive of everyday moments into a focused creative outlet. His first event working in a media capacity came soon after, with an unexpected moment to remember: bumping into Richard Hammond while he was preparing for the Silverstone Festival. By 2023, Ben made the decision to take photography more seriously. Throughout 2024 and into early 2025, he connected with a tight-knit group of photographers — many of whom are now close friends — and one of those relationships opened the door to his first-ever trackside shooting opportunity at Silverstone. From that point on, progress accelerated. Club events followed, signing on as media with Carnatter, and each weekend brought new faces, new experiences, and fresh opportunities to refine his craft. Before long, a personal website and business cards were in place — small but significant steps that marked the transition from hobby to profession.

Alongside this, Ben was selected as part of the Gassed On Track media team, covering both their debut Silverstone event and the 2025 edition. The second event raised the bar significantly, featuring demonstrations ranging from drifting and rallying through to F1 and NASCAR machinery.
Then came Pitlane-News. What started as a light-hearted Instagram competition quickly became something very real, and soon enough Ben found himself officially part of the team. It’s been a journey built on persistence, opportunity, and the support of people who believed along the way.
Ben remains genuinely grateful for that backing — and with momentum firmly on his side, he’s excited to see what 2026 and beyond might bring.
