Capturing the Art of Motorsport

Nick Murphy’s relationship with the lens began at the age of ten, when he received his first camera as a gift from his father. What started as a childhood hobby has evolved into a seventeen-year journey of visual storytelling. Over the last seven years, Nick has transitioned from enthusiast to dedicated professional, culminating in his arrival at Pitlane News in late 2025.

Driven by Passion

Nick’s dedication to motorsport knows no borders. He has traveled from the United States to Europe to experience the adrenaline of Formula Drift and the historic prestige of the Spa Classic. For Nick, motorsport isn’t just a job—it’s a lifestyle. Whether he’s shooting under a relentless sun, in the pouring rain, or beneath the floodlights of a night race, he is committed to capturing the raw emotion and "art" of the track.

A Tribute to an Icon

Nick’s creative drive is fueled by his hero, the late Ken Block. His admiration for the legend went beyond the screen; Nick traveled to California to view Block’s iconic car collection in person. As a permanent tribute to his idol’s impact on the sport and his own life, Nick bears a full lower-arm tattoo dedicated to Block—a testament to the level of heart and soul he pours into everything he does.

Overcoming the Challenge

Nick understands that photography is as much about resilience as it is about skill. He embraces the technical and environmental challenges of the field, believing that the "perfect shot" is earned through persistence.

“Photography is full of challenges, but those who fight through them deliver the results the client needs."
