Revolution Race Cars has unveiled the Revolution HyperSport, an all-new lightweight track car. It combines learnings from single seater, GT and prototype race cars to create a new segment of the track-driving market.
The HyperSport has been designed from a clean sheet, combining Revolution’s signature performance and safety principles into one package aimed at both competitive racing and serious track day drivers.
At its core, the HyperSport has been conceived to rethink what a track-only car can deliver. While prototype performance and safety have traditionally come with significant cost and operational complexity, Revolution’s latest car has been engineered to remove those barriers without compromising on capability.

This has been achieved at a price point below £120,000, positioning the HyperSport as one of the most attainable entry points for racers or track day drivers to experience true high-end prototype-level performance.
The HyperSport will sit alongside Revolution’s international championship-winning flagship 500 EVO, expanding the company’s product portfolio into a new market sector.
A new category of race car, built around the driver
The Revolution HyperSport establishes the foundation for a brand-new category of racer. It has been designed to cater to a broad spectrum of drivers, teams and race series across the globe, offering a platform that offers many of the benefits of GT machinery with the cornering performance and easy maintenance of a prototype.

The car has a dry weight of under 700 kg and is powered by a 2.0 litre turbocharged engine. This combination delivers an exhilarating 430 bhp/tonne, delivering an exceptional power-to-weight ratio combined with confidence inspiring driving characteristics.
Nigel Redwood, Managing Director, Revolution Race Cars, explains: “The Revolution HyperSport represents a fundamental change in how we think about race cars at this level. Until now, drivers have had to choose between cars that lack the latest performance and safety technology, or high-end prototypes that are complex and costly to operate. This car removes that compromise. We have created something that delivers genuine performance in a package that is exhilarating, not intimidating. We believe this car is the foundation of an entirely new category in motorsport.”
Performance through intelligent design
The HyperSport’s low drag aerodynamic philosophy is central to its concept, achieved by focusing on the principle of minimal outwash and reducing turbulence, which improves efficiency and close racing capability.

Unlike traditional prototype car designs, airflow is wrapped round the sides of the car, and channelled through the underfloor from the very front of the chassis, improving aerodynamic consistency while allowing for a more natural and comfortable driver position.
Beneath the car, a semi-ground effect underfloor delivers stable, predictable downforce. By carefully controlling airflow expansion and avoiding the extremes of full ground effect sensitivity, the platform delivers consistent performance across varying ride heights and track conditions, giving drivers the confidence to push the car to its limits every lap.
This philosophy is paired with a setup that prioritises mechanical grip. The car runs a 17-inch front and 18-inch rear wheel and tyre package, so the majority of overall grip is generated through the tyre and suspension platform, delivering a progressive, intuitive balance to drivers of varying experience levels.

James Abbott, Co-Founder and Head of Product Development, Revolution Race Cars, explains: “The HyperSport concept comes from our time spent trackside observing and listening to our customers and peers. We knew the car had to be something that drivers of all experience levels could trust immediately. The result is a car where the majority of grip comes from tyres and the mechanical platform, supported by our innovative aerodynamic philosophy that gives the driver an intuitive feeling. The efficient aerodynamics enable higher straight-line speeds, whilst also allowing drivers to push with confidence from day one, which is critical for both racing and track use.”
Safety at the core of its design
At the heart of the car is a unique in-house manufactured infused carbon reinforced polymer chassis, engineered to deliver safety and stiffness at a price point typically associated with tubular frame cars, with the lightweight benefits and top-level safety aspects of any conventional carbon fibre chassis. Like its 500 EVO bigger brother, the new car will use vacuum resin infusion technology for the chassis and bodywork’s construction, plus other elements such as the crashbox.

The HyperSport is the only car at its price point to feature a two-seat carbon fibre monocoque tested to FIA standards. It offers prototype-level protection, exceptional torsional stiffness, and long-term durability that remains consistent throughout its life.
The car’s body and chassis architecture have been designed with a focus on intelligent modularity and ease of servicing. The overall shape of the car reduces the number of individual components while ensuring that key assemblies can be removed and replaced quickly. Major elements such as the nose and engine cover are designed as bolted assemblies, allowing damaged sections to be swapped efficiently without the need to replace large, complex panels.
As the first application of its kind, the car integrates Revolution’s innovative double halo safety concept with an IndyCar-style wraparound aeroscreen. This strengthens protection for both drivers and trackday passengers while contributing to its aerodynamic efficiency; a key part of the car’s identity and performance philosophy.

The cockpit has also been designed with real world usability in mind, accommodating multiple seating configurations including centre, left hand and right hand driving positions, all interchangeable by the customer. This flexibility means it can accommodate up to two people, supporting a wide range of applications from competition to driver coaching and track experiences.
A car that is ready to race
The HyperSport has been developed both as a track car and a fully capable racing platform, with Revolution-promoted classes in European and North American prototype series being launched ahead of the 2027 season.
For the first wave of VIP customers, race packages will be available for the final round of the Equipe Sports Prototypes series in Portimão from 30 October to 1 November 2026.
Nigel Redwood, Managing Director, Revolution Race Cars, added: “I firmly believe HyperSport represents the beginning of an entirely new motorsport category, combining the appeal of GT and prototype racing and bringing unprecedented levels of safety to the volume end of the market, where compromises have traditionally been made on safety. We are excited to see it take shape on circuits around the world.”

Phil Abbott, Founder and Technical Director, and the visionary in the creation of Revolution Race Cars concluded: “Nearly 30 years ago, I decided nobody was building the car I wanted to buy so I made it myself. It’s really exciting that today we find ourselves with the right group of truly passionate racers who are ready to do it all again.
“HyperSport brings together everything we have learned from our own prototype experience but also brings in learnings from other sectors such as IndyCar and GT racing. As Revolution heads towards its tenth anniversary, it is time to throw the old rule book out the window and create something brand new. HyperSport promises to be a game changer.”
