There are very few events on the automotive calendar capable of placing fans quite so close to some of the world’s most desirable machinery, but this year’s Sywell Supercar Festival – The Runway once again delivered exactly that.

Held at the iconic Sywell Aerodrome, The Runway has grown steadily year after year, evolving into one of the UK’s premier destinations for supercar and hypercar enthusiasts. With the forecasted rain thankfully staying away, spectators were treated to a full weekend of clear skies, deafening exhaust notes and millions of pounds worth of automotive exotica screaming down the runway at breathtaking speeds.

What continues to separate Sywell from many other high-end automotive showcases is the sheer rawness of the experience. Unlike polished concours-style events where the cars often remain static behind barriers, The Runway is gloriously alive. Cars accelerate hard down the airstrip, filling the atmosphere with noise, heat and tyre smoke as they thunder past crowds at close to 200mph.

Speaking with Ciro during the event, renowned dealer Tom Hartley perfectly captured the spirit of the festival, describing Sywell as a “raw car show” — a fitting summary for an event that offers such rare access and proximity to extraordinary machinery.

As the festival continues to expand, so too does the calibre of exhibitors and guests attending. Major names including Tom Hartley Cars, RML Group, Gravity, Hankook Tire and Iconic Auctioneers were all present across the weekend, helping further cement the event’s growing reputation within the industry.

The paddock and showgrounds were also packed with familiar faces from both motorsport and the automotive social media scene. Jodie Kidd and Tom Chilton were among those mingling with crowds and enthusiasts throughout the weekend, adding to the relaxed and immersive atmosphere that Sywell has become known for.

Saturday delivered one of the weekend’s biggest talking points as the legendary Gumball 3000 rolled into the venue, instantly energising the already packed crowds. The arrival was everything fans hoped for — loud, theatrical and unapologetically over the top.

Drivers handed out merchandise to eager spectators while unleashing their cars down the runway, creating one of the standout spectacles of the entire festival.
Sywell Supercar Festival continues to prove exactly why it has become such a favourite among enthusiasts. It is immersive, noisy and wonderfully unfiltered — a celebration of performance cars exactly as they should be experienced.

And if The Runway is anything to go by, anticipation is already building for the festival’s next major showcase, The Hill, set to take place this June.
