Pitlane News | Season Launch

The arrival of a new race car always carries a certain sense of theatre, but the latest addition to the Truemix Racing stable feels particularly special. Recently delivered to the team is the formidable KTM X-Bow GT2 SPX, chassis number 177, an ex-factory machine from KTM with genuine pedigree.

This is not simply another GT car entering the grid. Chassis 177 is a proven winner, having previously claimed class victory at the legendary Nürburgring 24 Hours while also achieving success in the GT2 European Series. With such a history behind it, the car arrives in the UK with both expectation and excitement surrounding its next chapter.

Ahead of the season, I had the honour of visiting the team to capture their official launch photography. Seeing the machine up close only reinforces its reputation. The X-Bow GT2 SPX remains one of the most visually aggressive and technically fascinating GT cars built in recent years.

For 2026, Truemix Racing have also been appointed as KTM’s official UK ambassador, a role that reflects both the team's commitment to the brand and their growing presence within British endurance racing. Their focus now turns to the fiercely competitive Britcar Endurance Championship.

Competition in the category promises to be intense. The grid will feature a diverse mix of machinery including the striking Dallara SPX, the KTM X-Bow GT4 EVO, multiple generations of Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992) and Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (991.2) cars, and even the rare Lotus Evora GT4. With such variety on track, close racing and strategic endurance battles are almost guaranteed.

Sharing driving duties in the KTM will be Tom Walpole and professional driver Marc Kemp. Kemp’s role extends beyond the cockpit as he also works with Walpole as a driver coach, helping refine performance and consistency across the season.

Supporting the programme technically will be MTECH Motorsport, whose expertise will be central to maintaining and running the highly developed GT2 machine throughout the championship.
The team recently completed a successful shakedown at Donington Park, allowing final setup adjustments while also confirming the striking race liveries that will carry the car through the year.
With preparations complete, attention now shifts to the opening round of the championship. The season begins with a demanding 90 minute endurance race around Donington’s technical Grand Prix circuit, a fitting stage for the debut of one of the most decorated KTM X-Bows to arrive on British soil.
For Truemix Racing, the objective is clear. Build on the car’s remarkable history and begin writing the next chapter. On a grid this competitive, nothing will come easily, but few machines arrive with credentials quite like chassis 177.
