• Winner of The Great British Bake Off plus fellow TV stars
• Tasty cooking masterclasses on the Silverstone Kitchen Live stage
• New addition whisks up more family entertainment over summer Bank Holiday weekend
• Admission to culinary acts included in The Classic ticket price

A fabulous line-up of celebrity chefs will be sharing their gastronomic expertise and culinary passions with visitors to The Classic this summer at Silverstone.

With the award-winning three-day retro racing festival switching to an even more family-friendly Bank Holiday weekend (26-28 August), the off-track entertainment is being spiced-up with enhanced activities and attractions for all ages and interests to enjoy.

Celebrating this year’s Best of British theme, the recently announced Foodie Fest feature has today announced an exciting line-up of stars from the world of cooking who will be taking to the Silverstone Kitchen Live stage for must-see cooking demonstrations and Q&A sessions throughout the weekend.

Admission to Foodie Fest is included absolutely free in the price of admission to The Classic and among those appearing will be Candice Brown, Lesley Waters and Niall Kirkland.

As the winner of The Great British Bake Off in 2016, Candice Brown (photo below top left) is well-known to television audiences – her sense of style and love for all things vintage is the perfect fit with The Classic, steeped in stunning nostalgia. She will take to the Silverstone Kitchen Live stage on Friday.

Talking about being part of the inaugural Foodie Fest at The Classic this year, Candice said: “Winning the Bake Off has taken my life on all kinds of unbelievable adventures and to be coming to Silverstone for The Classic is another of those wonderful experiences. I was taught to bake by my Nan and my cookery always has a sense of history, so I’m sure to have a strong connection with all those coming to The Classic. It’s going to be fun!”

Having regularly appeared on cookery programmes such as Ready Steady Cook and Great Food Live as well as This Morning, Lesley Waters (photo below top right) is equally eminent and she will be sharing her great passion – and tips from her cookery school – for preparing seasonal food with fresh local produce in a simple, modern style on Saturday. Expect stunning results.

Then on Sunday, the Silverstone Kitchen Live stage will be serving up one of the country’s emerging culinary talents: food blogger and recipe creator Niall Kirkland (photo below row two).

Dishing up further delights, Silverstone’s very own Executive Chef, Dean Hoddle-Smith (photo below bottom left), will be supporting the celebrated chefs on all three days. He is another with a real hunger for local foods which blends in well with the event’s ‘Best of British’ banner – an infused patriotic theme for this jubilee year - with further flag flying by the Foodie Fest’s artisan market, being organised in collaboration with Made in Northamptonshire.

Festival goers also will be treated to drinks masterclasses in the Tasting Tent (bookings will be possible closer to the event) plus the exclusive opportunity to visit the very first pop-up Diddly Squat Farm Shop – the globally famous outlet set-up close by in the Cotswolds by petrolhead turned farmer Jeremy Clarkson during his hit Amazon Prime show Clarkson’s Farm.

“Whether it’s the line-up of celebrity chefs, the fabulous choice of festival food or the presence of Diddly Squat Farm Shop, the recipe for new Foodie Fest really does have all the right ingredients,” enthused Nick Wigley, CEO of The Classic promoter Goose Live Events. “The Classic is already established with automotive aficionados as one of the world’s premier historic racing meetings, now by adding even more off-track entertainment to the menu, we are widening its appeal yet further for all members of the family to enjoy.”

Other new additions for the Bank Holiday extravaganza are a third evening of live music starring chart-topper Rick Astley, a special Formula One showcase with all seven of Lewis Hamilton’s title winning cars gridded together for the very first time and Switch Live, a highly topical initiative providing visitors with the chance to drive the latest generation of state-of-the-art electric cars.

Providing exceptionally good value, all tickets for The Classic include access to the Foodie Fest, the live music, Switch Live, both racing paddocks and open trackside grandstand seating plus a huge array of eye-catching fun fair rides, stunt shows, and interactive demos.
